Out of Towners

For those of you who will be traveling to the Chicago area for the first time, you may want to plan a few extra days for the trip as there are many things to see and do while you're here!

Starved Rock State Park is about an hour west of downtown Chicago. Many of our guests are from the Chicago area and can certainly help recommend points-of-interest and guide you around town!

Here is a collection of information links we thought may be helpful regarding things to do and see while visiting Chicago.  If you are looking for something specific, please let us know!

Chicago Baseball

If you'd like to catch a baseball game in Chicago, you have a few choices:

For you real baseball fans, the White Sox will be playing the Baltimore Orioles at beautiful Sox Park (US Cellular Field) the weekend before our wedding of 8/21 through 8/23.

Of course there's also the popular choice of seeing the loveable losers, the Chicago Cubs. While it may not be the best baseball, Wrigley Field really is one of the best outdoor bars in town! They'll be playing at home the entire week of 8/25 thru 9/2.

Museums & Culture

There are some of the best museums in the country right off the lake in downtown Chicago. Below are links to The Museum of Science & Industry, The Adler Planetarium, and Shedd Aquarium. All three of these locations are within walking distance from each other, with a beautiful lakeside view of the downtown skyline!

Navy Pier

"For over 10 years, Navy Pier has been the place where all of Chicagoland and Tourists alike come together to enjoy all the fun and beauty of a day on Lake Michigan."
